Dietary Supplement Recall
Radiant Health, the New Zealand distributor of Demazin®, is proactively recalling two dietary supplement products: Demazin Kids 2+ Ills & Chills + Immune Support and Demazin Kids 2+ Chest + Immune Support following the identification of a packaging error.
The labels and carton of the recalled products do not match the formulation inside the bottles. The Demazin 2+ Ills & Chills + Immune Support labelled package contains the Demazin Kids 2+ Chest + Immune Support formulation and vice versa.

No other Demazin products are affected by the recall.
The ingredients used in the production of both Demazin herbal products are qualitatively similar, each containing Zinc as a key ingredient. Both products also contain Sambucus nigra (Elderflower or Elderberry) – as a key ingredient in Demazin Kids 2+ ills & chills + Immune Support (as Elderflower) and as a flavour in Demazin Kids 2+ Chest + Immune Support (as Elderberry). Demazin Kids 2+ Chest + Immune Support also includes Hedera helix (ivy leaf) as a key ingredient. As such, while the risk is low, it is possible that a consumer with an allergy to Elderflower or Hedra helix (ivy leaf) may be unexpectedly exposed.
Radiant Health responded quickly upon discovering the packaging error. To date, the company has received no complaints from consumers about the packaging issue and no reports of adverse events about these products.
Consumers are advised to return any products subject to the recall to the place they originally purchased them from for a full refund.

Radiant Health has written to wholesalers and retailers advising of the recall procedures to return affected stock.

Demazin kids 2+ ills & chills + Immune Support is a liquid, herbal dietary supplement that calms and settles the airways, helps clear nasal passages and soothes a scratchy throat.
Each 7.5 ml contains:
- Sambucus nigra (Elder flower) concentrated extract equivalent to dry flower 383mg.
- Zinc (from zinc gluconate) 750 micrograms.
Demazin Kids 2+ chest + Immune Support is a liquid, herbal dietary supplement that helps clear airways and soothes the respiratory tract.
Each 5 mL contains:
- Hedera helix (ivy leaf) extract dry concentrate equivalent to dry leaf 100 mg.
- Zinc (from zinc gluconate) 785 micrograms.
A recall has been initiated by Radiant Health following the identification of a packaging error in the following products:

The labels and outer carton of the recalled products do not match the formulation inside the bottles. The Demazin 2+ Ills & Chills + Immune Support labelled package contains the Demazin Kids 2+ Chest + Immune Support formulation and vice versa.
It is important to understand there are no concerns regarding the quality of the liquid formulation itself for either of the Demazin products. This is a proactive recall as the labels and outer carton of the recalled products do not match the liquid formulation inside the bottles. Radiant Health has not received any consumer complaints or reports of adverse events about these products.

Another way to determine if you have purchased a product that is incorrectly labelled is by the colour of the liquid inside the bottle. The correct colour of the liquid should be:
- Demazin Kids 2+ Chest + Immune Support liquid is purple in colour
- Demazin Kids 2+ Ills and Chills + Immune Support is amber in colour
Consumers are advised to cease using products outlined in the recall notice and return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
